BKN gästas av Jody Wood (New York) med projektet Folkets APOTEK. Du är varmt välkommen att ta del av invigningen av verket utomhus kl 11 den 19e juni på BKN. Sedan i bär en rad konstnärer verket till hamnplanen. Väl nere i Simpnäs kommer det sedan att aktiveras av Jody Wood vid ett antal tillfällen och då som Folkets APOTEK. Ett mobilt apotek med huskurer.

Kl: 11.30 - 12.30 vi vandrar med verket ner till Simpnäs
Kl: 12.30 - 13.00 montering/installation
Från kl 13.00 inlämning av huskursrecept, ”varuprov” och du får ett nytt recept eller ”varuprov”.

TA EN, OCH GE EN TILLBAKA
För varje huskur du tar uppmanas du att lämna ett recept i inbyte. Vänligen beskriv din huskur så detaljerat att den antingen kan letas upp eller framställas av konstnären.
Huskurerna i Folkets apotek kan bidra till fysisk, känslomässig, andlig, social eller mental hälsa – alla aspekter av hälsa och välmående är intressanta.
Begränsa gärna ditt uttag till en eller två huskurer per dag för att ge oss möjlighet att hålla sortimentet i gång.

Vad är folkhälsa? Bytesverksamheten inom Folkets APOTEK är en möjlighet att delta som skapare, uttolkare och förskrivare av folkhälsa. Föreställ dig din egen hälsa som en kollektiv process. Någon annans huskur får sin verkan genom att du använder den, och hur din kropp tillgodogör sig den. När du skriver ner ditt eget recept, föreställ dig vem som kommer att använda sig av det, och hur du på så sätt bidrar till bättre hälsa i ditt närsamhälle.

Observera att huskurerna i Folkets APOTEK är baserade på traditionell kunskap och därför inte medicinskt testade. Användning sker på egen risk.

Vi tar tacksamt emot små glasflaskor, tomma medicinflaskor och material för att framställa huskurer.

Verket som Wood gör på Björkö kommer att ställas ut 2022 på Skövde Konstmuseum (april-sept) och Norrtälje Konsthall (okt-nov), BKN är stolta över samverkan med konstnären och institutionerna.

To help us have time to replenish stock, please limit yourself to taking 1-2 remedies per day.

What is public health? Through this exchange process, you are invited to collaborate as a performer, interpreter, and writer of public health. Imagine your own health as a collaborative performance. A stranger's script can be interpreted through your body's gesture of consumption, application, or enaction.
As you write a remedy to share, imagine who may be the one to take it in a moment of need and how you are contributing to the health of your community.

Jody Wood is an artist working in the field of social practice, Wood aims to create artistic interventions that have a concrete impact on social problems.
Social Pharmacy (Folkets APOTEK) is a new project by NYC-based artist in Björkö, Sweden. The artist together with the local community has gathered various remedies. In a mobile fabric-covered construction the artists offer samples and recepies, they can not be purchased but exchanged towards new ones.
Where the artist uses strategies of community reciprocity, the artist will respond to a growing, collective social hunger by launching a mobile clinic for social health in partnership with By combining nutritional services with prolonged artistic interventions on social health, the notion of hunger will be addressed metaphysically, physically, and socially. Using the visual language of pop-up health centers in public space, Wood proposes social health as an urgent need, equally important as physical ailments.
The year-long cross-national project will culminate in two solo shows with Skövde Konstmuseum and Norrtälje Konsthall consisting of audiovisual installations and public engagements facilitated through the art institutions.
