HOW THE SEA SOFTENS
Title: Det mjukande havet/How The Sea Softens
Artist: Zoey Hart
Framework: HAVET SOM, OMGER OSS/THE SEA THAT SURROUNDS US
How the Sea Softens
Salt corrodes, Tides pull, Waves tumble and break, Water transforms: boundaries and borders, coastlines, bedrock, environments internal external. What can water teach us about easing into softness? Guided by the process of tumble-polishing rocks in sea water, Hart’s studio on Singo will become an installation space where visitors will be invited to visit, learn, discuss and practice what there is to be gained when we allow ourselves to be more soft. ZH
As part of the research process artist Zoey Hart met with locals in herSoft Stone Lab and talked about how the sea softens us (and the rocks).
Back in New York Hart continued to work with the material.
